Everyone wants to have flawless and glowing skin, but some of us are simply not blessed with perfect skin. Since my teen years I've been struggling with acne and highly sensitive skin. There was even a period when I couldn't go out in the sun to avoid serious damage because the texture of my skin was ruined due to extensive acne. I had tried pretty much everything to solve my acne problem and was about to give up when a few years ago I found an organic cream made from chamomile and essential oils designed specifically for sensitive skin. The cream helped me a lot and although I still had acne they weren't as large and red as before (sorry for the detailed description).
I still use the cream to this day and although I would get spots from time to time, my skin is clean most of the time. So, a couple of months ago when I got a rash on my cheek I was really surprised because all the products I'm using on my face and the entire body are made from natural ingredients and are designed for sensitive, acne-prone skin. I couldn't figure out what was causing the rash. My best friend Jannine is also all about organic products, since she too has very sensitive skin. I could almost say that she adores organic products more than me. When she saw my red face, she immediately asked me what kind of bath towels I use. I couldn't see what my bath towels have to do with the rash on my cheek.
I've always used plain cotton towels and I didn't pay much attention to the material when shopping. As long as they were soft and large I was satisfied. Well, all this changed when my friend told me that cotton is one of the dirtiest crops and is treated with lots of pesticides, thus cotton towels aren't the ideal choice for sensitive skin like mine and are probably the culprits that are causing my cheek rash. My friend suggested I get organic bath towels and get rid of all my old ones. When I did a bit of research on my own I found out that standard bath towels are often poorly made with low quality materials and then processed with harsh chemicals that can be particularly harmful not just to sensitive skin, but to all skin types as well.

Organic bath towels, on the other hand are naturally anti-bacterial and contain no harmful dyes or chemicals. I decided to get bamboo bath towels, simply because it's a highly resistant crop that isn't treated with pesticides and it's known for its highly absorbent and breathable features. Another great thing about bamboo is that the textile qualities of the fabric are exceptional. The smooth towels made from bamboo are very soft and silky, so the skin absolutely loves them. I must admit that getting organic bath towels was one of the best decisions I've made for my skin. They're very gentle on my skin and since they easily absorb the water I don't have to rub that hard to dry off my face and body.
Being naturally anti-bacterial, bamboo prevents bacteria from growing in the bath towels. Furthermore, it's one of the most sustainable crops making it an eco-friendly solution for all kinds of textile products not just bath towels. With my soft organic towels I no longer have to worry about some rash appearing on my face out of nowhere and I can honestly say they're the best friend of my gentle skin.
